AEL’s innovative format evaluates riders based on their overall performance score, with 40% of the score coming from flatwork, 40% from fences or poles, and 20% from a practicum knowledge-based test. Unlike traditional competitive formats where riders are judged directly against one another, AEL competitions are scored against a defined set of standards, allowing riders to focus on their individual progress and skill development. By combining equitation, horsemanship, athletic performance, and equestrian knowledge, AEL provides a supportive and competitive environment where riders can grow, achieve their goals, and be recognized for their dedication both in and out of the arena.
